Create your first invoice
-
On the left side of the page, click the big green Create an Invoice button.
Tip: To create an invoice for an existing customer, click My Address Book, and then click Create an Invoice. This way you can also review their previous invoice(s) before creating the new one.
-
Here are three ways you can create your invoice:
- Search for an existing contact by entering a name in the Search Contacts field. As you type, a list of contacts with matching names appears in the Search Results area. Click the name you want.
- Click a name in the Most Popular Recipients list.
- Click the big blue Create a New Contact button.
Enter customer information by completing the fields. Required fields are marked with a red asterisk (*)
To send this invoice to multiple contacts, click the Add another e-mail address link in the To section of the invoice form, and then enter the e-mail address.
- Click Tab to move from field to field.
When you’ve entered all the information, click one of the following buttons at the bottom of the invoice form:

Cancel — This discards any entries you have made and returns you to the previous page.
Save — This saves your invoice as a draft copy, in the Draft folder, but does not e-mail it. When you are ready to continue working or e-mail the invoice, click Drafts in the left panel, and then click one of the available actions.
Preview — Shows how this invoice will look when you print it. If you are satisfied with how it looks, click Print to send it to your printer. To make further changes, click Close.
Print — Print a copy of this invoice. After you print an invoice, you are given the choice to either File as Unpaid, which will move it to the Unpaid folder, Keep as Draft, Print Again, or Close to close this window.
Send by E-mail — This e-mails the invoice to your customer. After you e-mail an invoice, it moves to the Unpaid folder.
Note: When you enter a new contact, it is automatically added to the Address Book. As you create new items, they are added automatically to the items in the Products & Services folder.
