Set up your products and services
You can invoice your customers for both products and services.
- Products are things you sell (such as books, bikes, or shoes).
- Services are things you bill for by the hour, day, or month (like bookkeeping, music lessons, or Web design).
When you create an invoice, as you enter items they are saved in the My Products & Services folder. As you create an invoice, when you enter an item, if you type the first letter of the item, a list will appear showing all the items that begin with that letter. Just click to select the product or service you want to add to your invoice.
You can also add items directly in the Products & Services folder:
Click My Products & Services.
Click Create a Product or Service.
Enter a Description of your product or service (guitar, bookeeping services, etc.)

Click the Units drop-down to select the category that best describes your product or service. If you bill for a service, select Hour, Day, or Month according to how you bill. If you want to enter a simple Lump Sum, choose that option.
For Unit Price ($), if you bill for a service, say, $50.00/hour, enter the price here. If this is an item price, enter the price for a single item.
Select the Taxable checkbox if this is a taxable item or service.
